REGISTERED AGENT SERVICES
The Law Office of Jennifer D. Ward offers registered agent services to Texas entities including Limited Liability Companies, Corporations and Non-Profit Organizations.
What is a registered agent?
Texas Law requires every legally formed business entity in Texas to appoint a registered agent and provide a registered address. This information is available in the public record and can be accessed by conducting a search in the state database. The registered address must be a physical street address in Texas and is where official documents relating to your entity including letters from the IRS, Texas State Comptroller and the Texas Secretary of State are delivered during business hours. This also includes service of process, notice or demand in case your entity or business gets sued. Texas law does not permit an entity to use a PO Box as their registered address.
What are the benefits of having an external registered agent and address?
Foreign and out-of-state businesses that have a presence in Texas and register an entity in Texas require an external registered agent and address for their entities. Texas businesses may also benefit from having an external registered agent and address if they do not want to list a residential address and keep their personal information private.
